About

Hi there, I’m Arya of CozyCrochetIdeas.com.

My “crafter origin story” started at seven when my grandmother showed me my first crochet stitches. Not long after, my neighbor introduced me to sewing, and soon I was regularly creating seasonal wardrobes for my dolls with whatever yarn and fabric scraps I could get my hands on. I even remember stripping a toy poodle to make my favorite doll a fur coat for winter!

Of course, I can’t talk about my early crafting days without fond recollections of the kindly local sewist who allowed me to gather scrap fabric off his cutting floor every now and then.

Those projects are still some of my favorite memories of growing up. They taught me how comforting creative yarn crafts and a warm, supportive community could be. And that feeling will always stay with me.

Crochet is still where I feel most confident, though knitting and sewing weave themselves into my projects too.

I love reading books on foundational crochet methods and vintage patterns. A huge part of my growth is also thanks to the online community. I’m grateful to all the generous creators who share tutorials and tips which allow me to continue to hone my craft in ways that are immeasurably helpful.

This site ballooned from my habit of collecting inspiration every chance I get. I create crochet patterns, save patterns that I want to make, bookmark small projects to make quick crochet items, and gather interesting construction and fun yarn craft ideas. I wanted a space where all of that could live together and where I could share the designs that genuinely excite me.

Everything here comes from real experience and real enthusiasm. The crochet and knitting world is full of passionate makers who care about the craft, the techniques, the stories behind each piece and the joy of learning. I love being part of that energy and I hope this space feels warm and welcoming to anyone who wants to learn to crochet, to knit or to get into fiber arts in general.

Welcome and thanks for stopping by!
